Grants.gov

The Grants.gov system is free to the public -- anyone can set up an account. Grants.gov houses centralized information on more than 1,000 grant programs, and it vets grant applications for all 26 federal grant-making agencies, awarding more than $500 billion annually. On Grants.gov, you can:

  • Search by a simple keyword or build advanced searches over numerous grant opportunity categories, including agency and grant category.
  • Have grant opportunities directly to your desktop through custom search profiles you create; get notified via email or RSS feeds of future grant opportunities as they are posted by federal agencies.

For information on getting started with navigating the site, searching for grants and much more, check out Grants.gov online help here.

National Science Foundation (NSF) Funding Search

The National Science Foundation funds research and education in most fields of science and engineering. Search for NSF funding opportunities, awards and more.

National Institute of General Medical Sciences (NIGMS) Funding Opportunities

The National Institute of Health's NIGMS places great emphasis on the support of individual, investigator-initiated grants within its scientific mission areas. Most grants are for research projects (R01/R35), but NIGMS also funds small business (SBIR/STTR) grants as well as some research resources. The Institute encourages research in certain scientific areas through requests for applications, Notices of Special Interest, and program announcements. Search NIGMS for opportunities.
