Hey, new Mavericks! It's almost time to sign up for Online Orientation! Registration opens on April 1st in MavLINK.

Transfer and readmitted students are required to complete Online Orientation and meet with an academic advisor to enroll in classes for the Fall 2025 semester.

How to Sign Up:

  1. In your MavLINK account, click the “Undergrad Orientation Signup” link. This can be found on the left-hand side of the home page in the “Admissions” drop-down menu. The signup form will pop up in a separate window.
  2. Review your personal information before completing the form. Make sure your program of study matches what you plan to study (your "program of study" = your major!).
  3. Follow the instructions to complete the sign up process.
  4. Complete the New Student Wellness Survey.

Important Things to Know:

  • After signing up for Online Orientation, students will get access to the course within 24-48 hours.
  • Online Orientation is hosted in Canvas (canvas.unomaha.edu).
  • Online Orientation can take up to 2 hours to complete.
  • You will sign up for a new student advising appointment after completing Online Orientation.
  • Online Orientation must be completed BEFORE you meet with an academic advisor.

How to Access Online Orientation:

  1. Log into Canvas using your NetID and password. For help logging in, connect with the MavTECH Help Center.
  2. Find the Online Orientation course on your Canvas dashboard.
  3. Click into the course and follow the instructions to complete Online Orientation.

Orientation To-Do List Items & Holds:

All students receive an orientation to-do list item and an orientation hold.

To-do list items for orientation are removed after signing up for Online Orientation.

After April 7th, orientation holds will be removed within one (1) business day of completing the Online Orientation course. To have your orientation hold removed, you will need to complete all of the required modules and pass the final quiz with a 70% or higher.

New Student Advising and Enrolling in Classes:

To sign up for classes for the Fall 2025 semester*, you will need to meet with an academic advisor first. The advising and enrollment process for first-year students is explained in the Online Orientation course.

Transfer students cannot enroll in Fall 2025 semeser courses until April 7.

*Students admitted for Summer 2025 can enroll in summer classes without completing Online Orientation.

Immunizations

All international or homeschooled students born after 1956 are required to submit an official copy of their immunization records showing two measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccinations or a positive rubeola titer. To submit an official copy of these records, you must upload them through the immunization portal on MavLINK under "Profile".
