Welcome to Family Orientation at the University of Nebraska at Omaha! We’re so glad your student has chosen to join our Maverick family. Review the content and videos below to learn more about how you can support your student’s transition to college.

Family members are encouraged to participate in the online orientation with their students as well. These online modules can be found in the Online Orientation course on your student's Canvas dashboard after they sign up.
Financial Aid & Student Accounts
Navigating paying for college should be straight forward and stress free. At UNO, the offices of Financial Support and Scholarships and Cashiering and Student Accounts provide resources and excellent customer service to help students and their families understand the financial aid process and UNO student accounts. The Transition to College: Supporting Your Student for Success
Heading off to college is very exciting but is also a time of major changes. In the video below, Nate Bock, M.S., LIMHP, LADC of UNO Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) explains strategies for healthy and productive communication during this transition and talks about how family members can support their student along the way.

- Suggestions for successful communication about alcohol use

Accommodations – Accessibility Services Center
The video below outlines the Accessibility Services Center (ASC) and the process of establishing accommodations related to campus access, academic support, housing, and more.
