Leigha Moore

My name is Leigha Moore. My major is Business Administration with concentrations in International Business and Marketing! In my free time, I like to watch and play soccer as a left-wing forward. My favorite players are Daichi Kamada and Hiroki Ito. I also like to dance ballet, tap, and contemporary as well as, sing, play tennis, and socialize. I also enjoy traveling and language learning.

Going abroad these days is more important than ever in order to build a more accepting and diverse learning environment. Learning new cultures, languages, and life abroad is a treasure and I would like to share my experiences abroad and international knowledge with you. I am excited to assist you in your journey abroad!

Selfie of Peer Advisor Shay Stenroos

Shay Stenroos

Hello everyone! My name is Shayanne Stenroos - you can call me Shay! I grew up in Wisconsin and now am a senior here at UNO. I am double majoring in Psychology with a development concentration and Math with a data science concentration. I am also a member of the Omaha Dance Team. Needless to say, I like to keep myself busy! In the little spare time I have, I like to thrift and upcycle, cook and bake, and watch movies with my roommates.

In the summer of 2023, I was able to go on the Positive Psychology, Health, and Wellbeing Global Course in Italy which furthered my love for education abroad. I am hoping to go abroad again in the summer of 2025 too! If you are interested in studying abroad, stop by the office to explore your options- I’d love to meet you and help choose a program perfect for you!

Ethan Headshot

Ethan Copeland

Wassup! My name is Ethan Copeland, and before living in Nebraska, I was born and grew up in Minas Gerais, a prominent state in Brazil. I’m doing a dual major in Political Science with a Foreign & National Security Affairs concentration, and Economics, with minor degrees in History and Native American Studies. I’m an avid reader, focusing primarily on history and science fiction, with a noticeable interest in horror. I enjoy spending time with my friends and have an innate interest in traveling throughout the world and enjoy it as much as I can!

During my sophomore year, I was in an exchange program at the Fundação Armando Alvares Penteado in São Paulo where I got to experience my home country again. I’m more than happy to share my experiences, and desire to help others explore the world on their terms. If you have any questions or want to study abroad too, feel free to stop by the office and I’ll be more than happy to help!

Dani Headshot

Dani Hernandez

Hello, my name is Daniela Hernandez, you can call me Dani. I am a third-year student, my major is Sociology with International Studies and English minors. One of my favorite things to do is sing karaoke, go out to grab coffee, and learning languages.

This past Spring semester 2024 I studied abroad in South Korea! I was able to put into practice the language I was learning and also experience the Korean culture. This experience was one of the most rewarding experiences of my university life in which I was also able to make amazing friendships.

After getting initial information from a Peer Advisor, students can schedule an appointment with the Global Learning Advisor. In order to do so, they should talk to someone at the Education Abroad front desk, call 402.554.3168, or email unostudyabroad@unomaha.edu.
